By |2017-03-01T11:11:59+00:00April 10th, 2012|events, Uncategorised|0 Comments

Back from an interesting international bagpiping assignment. Was taken out to Dubrovnik, Croatia to do a bit of filming for US TV network ABC, who were shooting their new reality TV show. We are bound by Confidentiality agreement.. So better not say too much! Basically the idea was that the contestants on the show had to compete in highland games activities.  I was asked to pipe them on to the field, and then introduce the activities, caber tossing, archery and maide leisg. It was a great day of filming, with a cast [...]

International Burns night Kiev: Reel Time Band

By |2017-03-01T11:12:15+00:00April 5th, 2012|events|0 Comments

It was a pleasure to take the Reel Time Band over to Kiev at the end of March, for our last Burns night of 2012. After playing Stirling and Edinburgh Castles in January, it was great to have a full castle constructed as the stage. Burns night in Kiev is like no other you have seen. Organised by The Lions Club with a mix of Scottish music and Ukrainian pop stars, at a glitzy society event. Raising money for charity is the main idea, with auctions and raffles raising more than $120000 [...]

We had a bagpiper welcoming the guests to the fantastic Glasgow venue.  Roddy Deans was compering the event and addressed the haggis, while the Reel Time Ceilidh Band was on hand to give its funky brand of ceilidh music for guests to let their hair down.  Later in the evening, the great Rodolpho performed some Aerial hoop, and silk performances. Was great to meet all the MICE buyers and Scottish suppliers, who came together to [...]

By |2017-03-01T11:21:41+00:00October 6th, 2011|events|0 Comments

Had a great job yesterday piping Elizabeth Hurley in for one of her 4 international appearances to help with Breast Cancer Awareness.   She signed special Estee Lauder products which were helping raise money for the charity.  Later that day her and new fiancée Shane Warne switched on the Pink Floodights, to light up the Edinburgh skyline. House of Fraser did a great job of hosting the Breast Cancer awareness Public appearance; at Jenners in Edinburgh. Howie @ 21 Century Kilts designed me a wonderful pink Harris Tweed kilt.  With some chunky [...]

By |2017-03-01T11:25:48+00:00May 31st, 2011|bars, events|0 Comments

Reel Time Bars were up in Grangemouth last weekend shaking up a storm at the local Town Hall.  They provided an occasional license for the event, a charity Sex in the City party. 200 of Grangemouths well heeled ladies turned out for a charity auction, fashion show, and a great function band,  while enjoying a selection of Reel Time Cocktails.  A few ladies were given an impromptu cocktail masterclass while they watched their drinks being made. We are pleased to report that all 4 of the male bar team from the event [...]
