A Guest Blog - by Chris White www.edinburghwhiskyblog.com Driving up to Kinross House is what I imagine rolling up to a country mansion in Downton Abbey is like. This magnificent building sits on the shores of Loch Leven and was the first neoclassical Palladian mansion to be built in Scotland, in 1685, and was the recent setting for a rather special whisky tasting. Our guests, from all over the world, had requested the ‘Connoisseurs Tasting’ which really kicks things up a notch when it comes to interesting, old, and rare [...]
If there is a more beautiful setting for a hotel anywhere in the world I have yet to see it. We were lucky enough to have the pleasure of spending two days in March at Cameron House Hotel on the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Thursday afternoon kicked off with one of our superb Highland games experiences with six teams battling it out for glory, despite the changeable weather. As well as some caber tossing, we were very fortunate that our most celebrated national predator species, "Weeus Hairyus Haggis", were in [...]

Back from an interesting international bagpiping assignment. Was taken out to Dubrovnik, Croatia to do a bit of filming for US TV network ABC, who were shooting their new reality TV show. We are bound by Confidentiality agreement.. So better not say too much! Basically the idea was that the contestants on the show had to compete in highland games activities. I was asked to pipe them on to the field, and then introduce the activities, caber tossing, archery and maide leisg. It was a great day of filming, with a cast [...]
After performing together for the last 6 years around the corporate and wedding scene, the Reel Time Ceilidh Band have just recorded the start of their new Album. The band is looking to give guests a unique contemporary funky twist on Scottish ceilidh music. We have found that guests enjoy dancing to our style which may inject a disco riff, or a funk hook along with our Scottish sound. To hear these eagerly awaited samples, have a listen on the site http://bit.ly/nkFxMA If you want the band to come and play at [...]
The Reel Time ceilidh band have just completed 2 days intense filming for a German film to be aired on Christmas day on Germany, before hitting screens around the world. Reel Time supplied a 5 piece scottish ceilidh band (accordion, fiddle, small pipes, keyboards, drums) along with 10 film extras to perform with the artistes on the movie. We casted kilted ceilidh dancers and ladies in ballgowns for the highland ball scene. Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out, 4 weeks of filming left, then the post production to get [...]
