THE REEL TIME CEILIDH BAND

An innovative ceilidh band on the Scottish circuit, offering wedding clients a Scottish dancing extravaganza with a contemporary twist. Funky Scottish wedding music along with fun dance calling instruction.

The Reel Time Ceilidh Band have been performing at weddings for the last 6 years, they have delighted wedding guests in Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews as well as a host of international ceilidh crowds.

Our Ceilidh Style

The bands wedding ceilidh performances are lively, funky and will get your wedding guests on the dance floor until the wee small hours.

The Reel Time Ceilidh Band usually perform as a 3 or 4 piece for wedding entertainment.  The band comprises of Bagpipes, keyboards and full kit of drums in the 3 piece, with the addition of either fiddle or guitar making up the 4 piece wedding band.  The band also play as a 5 or 6 piece (with female/ male vocals) allowing them to perform popular songs to vary your wedding entertainment.

The band plays music suitable for ceilidh dancing or enthusiastic foot tapping.  They always explain how the dances are performed (ceilidh calling), to maximise enjoyment for your wedding guests and keep some order on the dance floor!  If it is a funky ceilidh band that you are looking for, then enquire for your ceilidh band booking.

Our usual Wedding format

For most of the Scottish weddings we do, the band will turn up at 7pm, set up PA (speaker system), instruments and lighting.  8pm first dance.  The ceilidh band play 2 or 3 x 45 minute sets between 8 and 12.  The band are happy to play background music during the wedding buffet and breaks.

The band often provide an evening split between Funky toe tapping ceilidh music and a disco. We either bring in a DJ to provide the tunes, or we are offering clients an IPOD option, which they can bring a playlist of their special tunes for their wedding.  The band has invested heavily in PA (speaker system) and professional disco lighting effects, so we are ready to make your venue come alive for a wedding you and your guests will never forget.
