The Reel Time Band is a new phenomenon on the Scottish music circuit. In the band we have seasoned ceilidh and folk musicians who play along with dance beats.
This 21st century Scottish sound went down a treat at T in the Park 2006, being broadcast live on Radio 1.
The band plays traditional Scottish tunes to dance backing tracks (which of course they have written themselves) to give an uplifting sound, which appeals to both young and old.
We have rearranged some of the steps from traditional ceilidh dances to make them a bit more fun, with a wee kiss here, and a bit of limbo, to spice up the Action.
We taught Vic Galloway, Colin and Edith (all of Radio 1) these new steps, which they thought were fantastic.
