The tradition of ceilidh dancing has been established across the ages. It is a good way of getting guests dancing and interacting with other members of the wedding party. This can often help to break the ice at weddings if guests don’t know each other very well.
The ceilidh bands we provide are seasoned professionals, playing through quality P.A. (speaker) systems. All bands come with a ceilidh dance caller, to talk guests through the dances, so ceilidh rookies and seasoned professionals can have an equally enjoyable time.
The bands come anywhere from a three to seven piece setup, depending on your budget and venue size. The instruments usually played include: Accordion, bagpipes, fiddle, drums and keyboards. If you have a particular penchant for another instrument, we can bring in guest musicians to play with most bands.
The bands play all the traditional favourites, including Gay Gordon’s, Dashing White Sergeant, Eight-Some Reel, Canadian Barn Dance, to name but a few.
