Many people when they come to a conference or event in Scotland are experiencing our culture and traditions for the first time. We have put together a Scottish cultural event that can be exclusively yours. We will advise you on the best way to run the show at your chosen venue; taking into account your requirements and preferences.
Our show is tailored so guests can enjoy the very best of Scotland in an evening, with the sounds, dances, cuisine and spirits of Scotland.
Give your clients the real taste of Scotland with a Scottish show.

2 Highland Dancers

Running Order:
- Piper to greet guests as they arrive at the venue.
- Cocktail music as guests are enjoying their canapés.
- Treat guests to a whisky tasting as an alternative to standard champagne receptions. Guests will be introduced to the spirit of Scotland by one of our master tasters, a perfect aperatif alternative to champagne receptions.
- Piper announces and pipe guests in for dinner.
- Piper to perform Selkirk Grace. As guests take their seats.
- Dinner Served
- Soup served, often scotch broth
- Piper to lead haggis procession before delivering Robert Burns 'Address to the Haggis'.
- If required the band will perform background music during dinner.
- Either at main course, or dessert stage, piper and dancers perform a 7-10 minute display. Including the Sword dance and highland fling.
- Another dancing display will be given after dessert.
- Our Scottish singer will perform some favourite traditional songs; some Gaelic (Scots language) songs can also be performed on request.
- Ceilidh band will talk guests through the dances and the Highland dancers will stay to help guests with participation. Dances to include The Gay Gordon’s, Eightsome reel, and Dashing White Sergeant.
- To give the guests a breather during the dancing, we will arrange a fiddle or accordion solo spot and band overture.
- At the end of the evening we will invite guests to join us in singing Auld Lang Syne.
- If you want something a bit different for guests, then we can bring along one of our whisky tasters. Often this is set up in another room to give guests another form of entertainment.
- If required, a disco can be added to the Scottish night, if guests want to dance the night away to their favourite pop tracks.
- To close the evening in style, we can add a 16 piece pipe band to Beat the Retreat (performance generally 5-25 minutes).
The show will typically last between 45-90 minutes. This is a sample of what we can offer you, we will tailor each show to fit our clients requirements. Some guests prefer to watch a show, other groups will want to be involved and participating in the dancing.
If you have a smaller venue, less guests or a tighter budget then we can organise you a smaller show.

- The dancers (if required) will teach volunteers from the guests some traditional Scottish dances. Whether individually or as a group is your choice.
Often we will take a whisky taster to smaller events to provide a Scottish after dinner liquor experience. This works well when guests have finished their dancing and leaves guests on a pleasant high note from your event. We can also provide gift bags at the end of the evening to provide a Scottish memento.
Optional extras include Scottish Storyteller/actor during dinner and Clann fighting display.
If you would like we can send you through a demo DVD of the show. Please email: events@reel-time.co.uk
